Spring Creek Threshers Reunion and Valley Threshing Day
At the seventh annual Spring Creek Threshers Reunion and fourth annual Valley Threshing Day at Golden Valley, the temperature was perfect – and there was just enough of a summer breeze to create those amber waves of grain. A crowd of all ages turned out to Golden Valley for Valley Threshing Day, which began with a parade and included displays in the community center, a hamburger feed in front of the Saddle Sore Saloon, a kids’ carnival, live music, a 50th class reunion, car and bike show, barbecue supper and, of course, the reason for the season – the Spring Creek Threshers Reunion, located at the farm of Roger and Tracy Boehler just south of Golden Valley. Attending the reunion included those like Rudolph Skalsky, Beulah. Sitting by the stationary engines, Skalsky has a Delavel engine from Sears-Roebuck at home that he got from his brother-in-law. He estimated the engine to be from about 1920. A few years back, Rudolph built a sod house on his farmstead and plans to hold a grand opening in the near future. He used to farm, but has been retired
