School board narrowly approves public communications policy
New policy was adopted by the school board that set in stone how the board could communicate with the patrons of the Beulah School District.
The topic was brought up during the second reading of the policy concerning Board Communication With the Public. Director Dwight Hatzenbuhler motioned to accept the second reading and was seconded by Director Jim Black.
Director Jennifer Steffan asked to provide comment.
“I was looking at the policy and the last little paragraph we talked so much about last meeting,” Steffan said. “It says ‘To ensure compliance with the open meetings law.’ I went online and researched and tried to find where there would be an allusion to that and couldn’t find anything. The open meetings law says you have to have a quorum in order to violate an open meetings law.”
