Sopping spring hinders spring sports for area high schools

It was a long winter. Harsh temperatures and blowing snow caused the rescheduling and cancellations of numerous games in numerous sports this past winter, keeping teams, coaches and athletic directors on edge.

That might have just been a warm-up for this spring.

"It’s been a mess the whole year making sure schedules are getting where they need to be," Hazen High School Athletic Director Brad Foss said. "It’s just been a year where the weather has dictated what you can do. But you just deal with it the best you can."
