Wildcats locked in for 1st place District 9 seed tourney
Before the first volleyball is taken out of storage, head coach Janet Erhardt sits down with her squad and makes a goals list. Despite some rough patches early in the season and a few stuffy noses recently, Center-Stanton can mark a check next to the top item on that list.
With a 3-0 sweep of Standing Rock Monday, the Wildcats finish the regular season District 9 schedule undefeated, earning them the automatic first place seed for the postseason. The match against the Warriors was originally scheduled for Tuesday but after Fort Yates school closed for four days due to high numbers of illness reported among students and staff, Standing Rock was forced to rearrange their schedule in order to complete their required matches by deadline. That meant facing the Wildcats with less than a full varsity roster Monday and battling Flasher to end their district schedule Tuesday in another rearranged match.
