The timing of summer storms has plagued the Post 12 baseball season so far. But if the weather can hold out this week, the team has a chance to pull to the top of the section. They continue their whirl-wind schedule this week.

The small town boys of the Post 12 Legion team showed some big contenders that they are the top dogs as they went on to oust Lidgerwood, LaMoure and Valley City in the Lever Classic over the weekend in Valley City.

Much like the regular baseball season, the Post 12 baseball team of Washburn, Wilton, Center and Stanton is playing around another wet season. Also, like the regular season, the team packs a punch of great baseball players returning to the field this season.

Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton made three errors during regulation of their title game against Hettinger Wednesday. The fourth error in extra innings, however, proved to be the one to hurt the worse.

The Men’s senior golf league at the Black Sands Golf Course in Beulah is set to being the 2011 season on Tuesday, May 3, starting with an organizational meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the clubhouse, followed by an open day scramble tournament.

A young crowd of athletes represented the Center-Stanton track team last Tuesday for their first outdoor action of the season at the Beulah Miner Invite in Hazen. The team was missing many of their upperclassmen due to a conflict with other sports.
