Hettinger Black Devils leave WWCS Cardinals as region runners up

Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton made three errors during regulation of their title game against Hettinger Wednesday. The fourth error in extra innings, however, proved to be the one to hurt the worse.

Schreiner pitches gem in Cardinals’ tournament win against Skyhawks

Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton sophomore pitcher Brett Schreiner was on his game early and never looked back, as he propelled the WWCS Cardinals to a 4-0 win over the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks in the Region 8 Tournament Monday in Bismarck.

Men’s senior gold league starting up

The Men’s senior golf league at the Black Sands Golf Course in Beulah is set to being the 2011 season on Tuesday, May 3, starting with an organizational meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the clubhouse, followed by an open day scramble tournament.

Center-Stanton tracksters compete with underclassmen

A young crowd of athletes represented the Center-Stanton track team last Tuesday for their first outdoor action of the season at the Beulah Miner Invite in Hazen. The team was missing many of their upperclassmen due to a conflict with other sports.

Bad weather cuts wrestling registration, competition

Weather put a damper on Center-Stanton Wildcat Wrestling’s first tournament. Poor road conditions following a blizzard even postponed action from Friday night until Saturday afternoon. Even then several of the registered athletes did not show up. The total of little wrestlers went from the mid-200s to only 83.
