Home run race heats up in Astros sweep

They may not win Major League Baseball’s Triple Crown Award but that doesn’t stop Tanner Borlaug and Alex Barfield from having their own home run derby. Following mirror blasts Tuesday night, Borlaug leads the series 4-3.

Hazen’s internal competition has done more than give the recent graduates bragging rights. The back-to-back bullets in the third inning handed head coach Mike Lorenzano his first American Legion win in Beulah last week. The Astros swept the Cyclones 5-2 in the Section 7 counter and came back to cap the 11-10 win in eight innings for the sweep.
