The Bison Booster basketball camp was a four-day camp held last weekend in the Hazen High School gym. The camp was divided into two groups, a first grade through fourth grade group and a fifth grade through eighth grade group.

The Hazen girls golf program is no stranger to success and continues to prove it all around the state. After earning a region championship the Bison made their way to the Tom O’ Leary golf course for more success at the state tournament. The Bison finished the two-day state golf tournament with a second place trophy and an all-state honor.

Hazen knew at the start of the season that they were going to have to beat Beulah, Washburn or both teams to advance to the state tournament. Hazen knew they had the skills to beat Washburn but Beulah had proven to be a tougher test.

Regional track is what most teams gear their season around. Most teams hope to get to the regional meet and place a few athletes in the state meet. For Hazen and Carrington the only goal is to top each other in total points at the end of the meet.

Golf has come and is just about ready to go. The golf season was hurt by spring’s late start. None the less Hazen’s goals stayed the same.

The Hazen girls track team continues to compete at a high level. Last week the Bison participated in two meets placing first in the Badlands Conference meet and second in the New Salem Invite. The Bison had 27 varsity placers in the meets combined and five JV placers.

Delays are annoying. No one likes to be told stop and wait untill things get better. For the Bison all of the waiting paid off with a successful day. The Bison boys’ track team took first place at the Sakakawea Country Classic and the girls team took second place.
