Washburn prevails against Underwood in double-header

The final set of games before Christmas break saw the Washburn Cardinals hosting the Underwood Comets in double-header action last Tuesday night. Both matches went overwhelmingly in the Cardinals’ favor as the boys got great production from their guards on their way to a 65-53 victory while the girls were led by Spanky Clayton’s 21 points for the 60-39 win. In the boys’ game, Washburn’s Jeff Rasmussen and Brett Schreiner again demonstrated their team’s strength on the parameter, combining for 34 points in the game. Bringing their lead to double-digits in the first quarter, they got production from all spots on the court.
