Trojans keep rolling

Two wins this past week makes thirteen straight wins for the Turtle Lake-Mercer- McClusky Trojans.
Tuesday night, the Trojans defeated the Hazen Bison 69-55 on the Bison home court.
Friday night, the Trojans pounded the Garrison Troopers in a district game on the Trojans’ home court, 69-37.

Grant Singer led the Trojans with a double-double, scoring 24 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.
Brent Sorenson had the double-double for the Bison, scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
The first quarter was close with the Trojans getting a four-point lead at the 2:04 mark after a pair of free throws from Grant Singer.
Brent Sorenson tied the game at 14 each at the 0:41 mark with a triple. With 0:27 showing on the first quarter clock, Shane Nelson put the Trojans in front, 16-14, with a long two-pointer and ended the quarter the same way.
The Bison were whistled for five fouls in the first quarter; four of them were shooting fouls. The Trojans made good on five of the eight tries.
The second quarter, the Trojans offense went cold and only scored four points in the first four minutes of the quarter, while the Bison took a 24-20 lead.
Myles Tomlinson drained a triple for the Trojans at the 3:15 mark to cut the Bison’s lead to 24-23.
The Bison answered back with back-to-back triples from Sorenson and Jon Doll to go up 30-23.
Tomlinson answered with a triple at the 2:02 mark and a deuce at the 0:31 mark to make the half-time score 30-28 Bison.
The teams traded two-pointers to start the third quarter; then at the 3:49 mark Tomlinson put in a trey for the Trojans to go up 38-36.
At the 2:15 mark, Sorenson put the Bison in the lead, 41-39, with a triple. Just seconds later, Adam Peltier put the Trojans back on top, 42-41, with a trey.
Ryan Miller scored a deuce for the Bison to go up 43-42. A free throw from Shane Nelson at the 1:25 mark tied the game at 43.
Austin Entze put the Bison on top, 45-43. That didn’t last but a couple of seconds as Peltier put in another triple for the Trojans to take a 46-45 lead.
Singer was fouled with 0:27 left in the quarter. Singer made the first try but missed the second. A lane violation on the Bison gave Singer another, which he made to put the Trojans in front, 48-45.
Miller scored with 0:10 left to end the third quarter with the Trojans up 48-47.
The Bison scored first in the forth quarter when Sorenson grabbed a loose ball and put it in to put the Bison in front, 49-48.
From there, the Bison fell apart as they were whistled for a shooting foul and a technical foul. This put Peltier at the free-throw line for the two shots, both of which he made.
Singer made both the technical fouls shots to take a 52-49 lead.
The Trojans also got possession of the ball after the foul shots but turned the ball over. On the in-bound play for the Bison, Singer stole the ball and went in for a lay-up and gave the Trojans a 54-49 lead.
The Trojans then finished the game outscoring the Bison 17-6 to win, 69-55.
