Cougars pounce, Miners fight back 40-6
By Brenda L. Shelkey
Opening game of the gridiron season for the Central McLean Cougars pitted them against the Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter Imperials last Friday on the Underwood. Head Coaches Kevin Dockter and Keith Sundquist and Assistant Coach Jason Block know they have a challenging season ahead of them after losing a strong senior line-up from last year.
The Cougars are in a building year with only five seniors on the team and only two who saw a measurable amounts of playing time last year. Another factor affecting the team is the addition of McClusky ball players joining the co-op this year. The addition to the team has been a plus for the Cougars, putting the roster at 28 gridders out for the team.
