Sports Co-ops hold consecutive meetings
By ALLAN TINKER
In an apparent effort to avoid problems and streamline function, the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans and the Central McLean County Cougars sports co-ops held meetings consecutively at the McClusky High School Home Ec room on Tuesday, November 15.
Representatives from all co-ops were present, with Un-derwood leaving the meeting site after the Cougars co-op meeting concluded and prior to the Trojan co-op meeting.
Basic information sharing, email contacts, shared schedules for 2012-2013 and outstanding bills and billing procedures were clarified. Business managers for each school will report on the billings, expenses and income annually and adjustments will be made as per co-op agreements at that time.
The Trojan co-op which met following the Cougar, co-op, made an effort to duplicate the co-op procedures as much as possible to keep things easy to remember and to follow.
A question as to awards programs held so that parents and interested people may attend was addressed. The football awards had been done during a pizza party and not with parents present. The pizza party is fine, but the co-ops would like to have sports awards made for the parents and supporters to be able to participate in them also.
Evaluation of sports coaches was addressed. Each school is responsible to see that these get done and the input from the athletic directors is critical in the evaluations. All schools should have some say in the evaluation process, the schools agreed.
