The Velva gridiron crew rolled over Grant County-Flasher last Friday night, stilling the storm 45-6 and remaining undefeated in the young season. The Aggies pounded out 252 yards on the ground in 36 carries, while GC managed only 32 yards in 30 carries. In the air, things were a bit more evenly matched with Velva connecting 5 times for 65 yards and GC 7 times for 58 yards. The Aggies 14 first downs, 3 turnovers and punted it away once while the Storm made 6 first downs, gave it away 4 times and punted 6 times. The Aggies opened scoring just three minutes into the game when Kyle Kuntz jammed it 2 yards into the end zone, followed by Sam Schultz’s PAT kick. Josh Weidler put up the next two scores, powering his way 9 yards on both carries to get in for the TDs.
