Lady Aggies 5-1 in district play

The Velva netters lost their first district game last Thursday when they fell to the Westhope-Newburg Eagles 3 of 4 matches: 24-26, 25-13, 21-25 and 8-25.
“It was a tough district loss,” said Velva’s Coach Diana Thingstad. “We may see them in the district tournament, so we may redeem ourselves. We played well, but lost our momentum in game four.”
Earlier last week, the girls picked up a district win, smoking Rugby 25-16, 25-19 and 25-15.
The Aggies are now 5-1 in district play and 6-6 overall. The District 11 Tournament begins on Oct. 30 and Velva will host.
