Last Chance meet in Velva
As the state track meet draws near, Velva hosted the Last Chance meet on Monday, giving athletes another chance to qualify for the state event, to be held over Memorial Day weekend in Bismarck. A number of local tracksters took advantage of the opportunity, earning trips to Bismarck.
Collin Kittelson, Josh Sandy, Ty Bruner and Ethan Boehm joined forces in the 4x100 to finish first with a time of 00:44.46. Codee Lee took first in the discus, hurling it 132’, and Sandy qualified in the 800 run with a time of 02:02.68.
For the Aggie girls, Sarah Weidler ran her way to a state qualifying 01:01.40 finish in the 400 dash, and Kara Kuntz qualified in the 1600 meter run with a winning time of 05:30.12.
