Grapplers open season

The Velva-Garrison-Max grapplers opened the wrestling season last Saturday at the individual Class A Early Bird Tournament in Minot.
“It was a good tournament to start with,” said Aggie Head Coach Mike Thingstad. “Most guys got four to five matches against good kids, and the younger guys got about three.”
At the varsity level, Austyn Kittelson (5-0) took first at 140, and so did Troy Jespersen (3-0) at 285. Second place went to Michael Duchsherer (2-1) at 152, and Jed Jespersen (3-1).
