Velva girls rated in top ten in state

In less than a week, the Velva girls went from tied for 9th in Class B media poll to standing alone in 8th place, moving ahead of both Thompson (13-2) and Central Valley (13-2). Minot Ryan (16-1), who the Aggies beat two weeks ago, are ranked sixth. The Aggies have only one loss in the regular season, and that was a close game with reigning state champs Carrington (14-1), who remain at the top of the most recent poll.
This past week, the girls picked up three more wins.
The Aggies beat persistent district foe Bottineau 49-39, then Underwood 45-37, and capped it off by getting past Harvey-Wells County 49-45.
