Things got off to a slow start when Towner-Granville-Upham came to Velva last week, but the Aggies prevailed in the end, beating the Lady Titans 40-28.

Grapplers travel to Minnesota

The Aggie wrestlers did everything from clean basements and haul garbage to sell goodies and clean out tree rows to earn a trip to Minnesota. As a result, they were able to pay for their fuel and expenses for a weekend that included wrestling competition and a trip to the Metrodome for a Minnesota Vikings game.

Girls take second place

The Velva Aggies came away from last week's Sawyer Girls Invitational with second place, after beating Sawyer 67-30 and Berthold 49-44 to make their way to the championship game. They lost the title to Des Lacs-Burlington 62-32.

Grapplers open dual season with wins

The Aggies put down three straight days of hard wrestling last week, defeating Kenmare-Tioga 48-27 and Harvey 54-20 in dual action on Thursday and Friday, and then taking second in the Velva Invitational on Saturday.
