Cagers head for district tournament

The Velva cagers have ended regular season play with 16-3 record and are now preparing for the District 11 tournament this weekend.

Grapplers qualify 12

The Velva-Garrison-Max Aggies capped off their Region 3 Dual title by qualifying most of their wrestlers at last weekend's Region 3 Individual Tournament in Rolla and taking another title. The Aggies claimed first place, getting by Rolla-Rock Lake-St Johns 218-191.

Aggies go to 7-0 in district

The Aggies picked up two more wins this week, leaving them with a 7-0 record in district play and 14-2 overall. Velva faced off with their neighbors down the road on Feb. 10, and stunned the Sawyer Flashes 105-40.

Girls fall short

Despite a concentrated effort, the Velva girls didn't make the cut at the District 11 tournament, and will not be competing at the Region 6 tourney.

Cagers go to 9-2

The Velva boys faced off with the Dunseith Dragons last week, and came away with another district win, 60-55. The win puts them at 4-0 in the district and 9-2 overall.

Grapplers going strong

The Velva-Garrison-Max Aggies have seen a lot of mat time the past week, including hosting their last home match for Senior Night. The Aggies defeated Des Lacs-Burlington 45-24 on the 20th, and then beat New Town last Friday night, 57-22. The team went on to compete in the Watford City Round Robin tournament on Saturday and racked up some more wins.
