Few knew Center man arrested in cold case

Clarence (Mike) Burcham, 44, was arrested June 11 in Center for the 1993 murder of a Moorhead, Minn., woman, Sharon Stafford. Stafford and Burcham were neighbors at the time of her death.

When word of the arrest spread through Center, it caught people off guard. Not because of the crime for which he has been arrested, but because no one recognized Burcham’s name and few knew who he was.
