The euphoria of flight, some kind of heaven

As far back as Budd Henderscheid, 85, can recall, he has been filled with a love for airplanes. That love, which began as a mere boy, grew into a dream to soar through the clouds.

It was a dream that came true for the son of Center homesteaders, Sam and Maude Henderscheid. There were very few airplanes around the countryside in those days, just one other that he can recall. But that didn’t matter to the strapping young farm boy.
