Oliver County’s singing, banjo picking treasurer

Everyone has a hero. For Lee Benjamin, it’s Earl Scruggs, world renowned musician noted for perfecting and popularizing 3-finger style picking on the 5-string banjo.
“Earl, now that’s my banjo hero. He’s the best,” Benjamin said.
Having a banjo hero is no surprise for those who know Benjamin as Oliver County’s own bluegrass singing, banjo picking county treasurer.
