The Oliver County shop began working a split shift Sunday, Jan. 9 in order to provide seven-day service to the county.
County Road Supervisor Bruce Nelson said this will especially help with snow removal in the county in another winter of heavy snowfall. Nelson broke out the shifts, with two full-time employees working Sunday through Wednesday and the other two full-time employees working Wednesday through Saturday. This gives the shop a full crew on Wednesday. Temporary employees will be on call.
“They were all willing to do this. We’re going to give it a try and see how it goes,” Nelson said.
