“We come out hitting the ball. We had four or five hits in the first inning and good plate appearances where we got a walk or two so we executed well there.”
That’s how Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton coach Kip Erickson describes his team’s first frame against Shiloh Christian in Region 8 baseball action last Friday. Through cloudy skies and misting rain, the Cardinals were able to jump on the defending region champions early and never looked back en route to their 8-6 win at the University of Mary campus.
