Southwest Water shoots for spring

Despite soggy conditions that have persisted throughout 2011, Southwest Water Authority officials say they remain on track to have water flowing through the Southwest Pipeline Project and out customers’ faucets in Mercer and Oliver counties by early spring 2012.
The treatment plant building is up and construction continues on the site about seven miles north of Zap along County Road 13, according to SWA manager/CEO Mary Massad. The plant was originally scheduled for completion late this year, but less-than-ideal construction conditions slowed progress, Massad noted.
