Calling all anglers to Last Chance Walleye Tourney

Calling all anglers to Last Chance Walleye Tourney Are you not quite ready to give up on summer yet? Labor Day weekend just wasn’t enough of a vacation to count? Are you begging for just one more opportunity to snag that whopper before cleaning up the boat and putting it in storage for the winter? Well, if you answered yes to any of the previous questions, the Dakota Waters Resort has the solution for you. Dakota Waters along with Dakota Farms Inn, Hook Line & Sinker and the Dakota Waters Guide Service have teamed up to sponsor the Last Call Walleye Tournament Sept. 13 on Lake Sakakawea. Gary Suko, owner of Hook Line & Sinker, came up with the idea after talking with Dakota Waters Guides Kirby Morgenstern and Kevin Kerner. Mott used to host a walleye tournament in the fall for many years as well as the Garrison Fall Walleye Classic but both decided to discontinue the tournaments this year. “We just decided to take it over and wanted to put it on up here,” Suko explained. “We’ve had a lot of interest in it. We’re hoping this is the first annual.”
The tournament will be run similar to other fall fishing tournaments. Teams can be made up of either two or three people with a $100 registration fee per team and an optional $25 to enter the largest walleye and largest northern contests. Space is limited to 60 teams with 28 boats already registered. Participants must be 18 years of age unless fishing with parent or legal guardian. Anyone interesting in signing up can access a fishing application on http//www.fishingbuddy.com or at any of the local sponsors.
