Several public service messages created by Hazen High School students were named finalists in the North Dakota Department of Transportation and AAA's third annual North Dakota Teen Drivers Safety Contest.
The public now has the opportunity to vote for winners in billboard and 30-second public service announcement categories until voting closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 27. To vote or for more information about the contest, visit the N.D. Teen Drivers website at www.ndteendrivers.com.
The top five finalists in each category have been selected by a panel of judges and posted in no particular order on www.ndteendrivers.com. All votes received will count toward the overall score to determine the winners and runners-up. The winners and runners-up will receive prizes provided by contest sponsor AAA.
North Dakota high school students ages 14-19 were eligible to register for this contest. Out of nearly 90 total entries from schools across the state, five from each category were selected as finalists to be voted on by the public.
In addition to HHS, schools represented as finalists in this year’s N.D. Teen Drivers Traffic Safety Contest are: Bismarck Career Academy, Valley City High School, Milnor Public School, New Testament Baptist School (Larimore), Barnes County North, Garden Valley School (Williston) and Hope High School.
