Miners take 4th at state

The Miners didn’t have the success that they wanted as a team but they did do well individually. The Miners lost both of their duals at the state tournament and failed to place in the duals. In the individual brackets the Miners did well, placing four wrestlers.
Evan Mellmer led the way with a fifth place showing at 182 pounds. Mellmer got off to a good start with a pin in his first match but came up against Region 4 rival David Murphy, Standing Rock, in his second match. Murphy continued his winning streak against Mellmer with a 2:48 pin. Mellmer  recovered by wrestling well in the wrestle-backs and collecting two pins.
