Brittons chosen as 2012 Turtle Days royalty

With big smiles on faces carefully balancing their royal headgear, Richard (Dick) and Lillian (Lil) Britton posed for their official newspaper photograph for the event.
Brittons are well known in the community; Dick is currently serving as president of the city commission (mayor) and has served on many boards and other local positions. These include: chairman of the McLean-McHenry Farm Mutual Insurance board and Turtle Lake Irrigation Board, former chairman of the Turtle Lake Township board, past director of Equity Elevator, Turtle Lake Farmers Union Oil Co., and Farm Credit Services in Mandan.
Both are members of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, located north of Turtle Lake.
They moved to town in 2006, leaving son Rick to run the farm directly. Dick still travels to work on the farm but can now decide if he wants to each day. “I can skip a day,” he grins.
