Standoff after home invasion

OnWednesday, Dec. 19, law enforcement agents from several departments were surrounding a north New Town home where a heavily armed man was holed up after breaking into the house sometime after midnight that morning.

Well blowout near Van Hook

An oil well just east of Van Hook blew out Tuesday evening. Officials and safety teams from Slawson Exploration were on the scene Wednesday morning and said they would attempt to close off the well later that day.

Reese was honored at the Cenex Energy Summit in Fort Myers, Florida, where he received the Energy Summit Award in the retail fuels category.

Hundreds mourn slain grandmother

There wasn’t a parking spot to be found for blocks as hundreds of people came to say their final farewell to Martha Johnson on Monday. Johnson, along with three of her grandchildren were killed on Nov. 18 in her home.

Four dead in New Town, another kills self in Parshall

Three children and their grandmother were murdered in New Town on Sunday afternoon. A New Town man who committed suicide in Parshall that evening is alleged to be the killer.
