Velva mayor elected NDLC president

Cindy Shattuck, mayor of Velva, was elected president at the North Dakota League of Cities annual business meeting in Fargo. Shattuck will serve as the 77th president of the North Dakota League of Cities.
“It’s an honor to take the reins of this great organization,” Shattuck said. “These are exciting and challenging times for the state’s cities, especially in western North Dakota.”
The North Dakota League of Cities announced its annual award recipients Saturday at the close of the annual conference. Each year awards are presented to the city of the year, an outstanding city elected official and an outstanding city employee.
