Butte Fire District gets grant
The Butte Fire Protection District was among those receiving Assistance to Firefighters (AFG) grants, awarded to five fire departments across the state. The Butte department received a grant of $12,825. Other districts awarded funds included Northwood, Fargo, Marion and Portal.
These grants bring the total awarded to local fire departments and emergency medical services organizations in North Dakota to nearly $22 million since 2001. In fiscal year 2008, North Dakota has so far received over 1.5 million dollars. Nationally the AFG program will ultimately award around $500 million in FY 2008.
