City commission hires new attorney

The Velva City Commission was back at work in the new year, opening their regular meeting on Monday night by hiring a new city attorney.
Former city attorney James Maxson had talked to the city about finding other respresentation. In response, the commission entered talks with McHenry County States Attorney Marie Roller, who was on hand at Monday’s meeting.
