The engines that couldn't!

In testament to the never-ending battle with passage through this winter’s snow, seven Soo Line engines were stuck near Butte last week. Railroad employees and equipment, along with local help such as Ralph Volson of Drake, worked on digging out the tracks.
The train became mired in the snow last Tuesday, Jan. 20, and work to clear the tracks continued through Wednesday.
