Holiday snow puts plows on the roads

Not many people go over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s house by sleigh any more. That’s why most people were glad that Mercer County had their snowplows out during he holiday weekend.

Northern Plains National Heritage Area public meetings scheduled for Morton, Oliver, Mercer counties

The Northern Plains Heritage Foundation will conduct three public input meetings Nov. 29-Dec. 1, in Morton, Oliver and Mercer counties to provide information about the Northern Plains National Heritage Area and take comments on the development of goals and objectives for the investment of federal matching funds in the area.

Beulah will be celebrating season the in many ways over the coming weeks with events for the entire family. The Beulah Chamber of Commerce’s “Hometown Holiday” fourth Annual Walk-Around will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Garbage a highlight of city meeting

People may soon be allowed to take their garbage to the transfer station in Beulah. The city had to discontinue accepting household garbage and recycling at the transfer station when Waste Management Inc. stopped providing those services in Mercer County.

Dist. 33 legislators look to 2011 session

Voters in District 33 gave the incumbents a resounding vote of confidence. Sen. Randy Christmann and Reps. Brenda Heller and Gary Kreidt face a legislative session where money from oil taxes is plentiful, but so are the demands for that funding.

Cross country reaches new heights

Hard work and improvement throughout the year. If you were to ask Beulah-Hazen coach Bruce Wold what it takes to have success in high school cross country that is what he would recommend. And Wold would know after the veteran coach was named the Class B Boys State Coach of the Year last Saturday.
