City tightens rules for peddler’s permits
City officials were recently frustrated by a security company which installed alarm systems that made calls through local law enforcement without getting the OK first.
Devcon, run by Pinnacle Security out of Orem, Utah, received a peddler’s permit to sell security systems in Beulah in late April-early May. In order to receive the permit, the company needed to provide proof of a state commercial transient license and up-to-date background information to the city. If they, or a company like them come back in the future, they’ll also need a memorandum of understanding due to extra work now falling on the backs of the Beulah Police Department.
