Scoping out some flood solutions

5/20/10 (Thu)

Another step in getting some permanent flood relief for Beulah and other communities in Mercer County happened at Beulah City Hall last week.

Representatives of the Army Corps of Engineers and North Dakota State Water Commission met with local officials to begin the scoping process to study flooding problems and solutions on the Knife River and its tributaries, especially Spring Creek. Randall Behm and Chris Fassero from the Omaha, Neb., office came to Beulah to get the local perspective on flooding issues to learn what needs to be included in a study of possible solutions for people living along the river.
