Wildcats lose 2 region games

The Wildcats were swept in two region games last week. The first game was a road game against Washburn in District 9 play. The second game was a loss to New Salem-Almont in a possible Region 5 tournament preview game.

Sewer line mended, pool to get painted

Center residents were asked to restrict their water use Sept. 13 while a sewer break was being repaired. The break was fixed and is in working condition now.

Dance program remains in swing at C-S public school

Nicole Albers has been coaching competitive dance at the Center-Stanton Public School for eight years. As the school’s population has fluctuated, so has her dance team. Last season she started with five girls and went down to three but didn’t compete at state. So she and her team were concerned when the school board meeting’s agenda seemed to indicate that the club might be cut.

County brims with money issues

The Oliver County Commission was feeling rather generous at its meeting Friday. The three commissioners agreed to give money to a local nonprofit group courtesy of leftover funds from a NextEra donation.
