Emergency planning put to the test

3/21/13 (Thu)

Center Stanton Public Schools put emergency planning to the test recently when circumstances indicated the need to “shelter in place.” Superintendent Curt Pierce noted that shelter in place is used when there is no imminent danger present, but to “be prepared, just in case.”
Shelter-in-place status calls for closing down entries into the school; halting open flow of students within the school; and increasing the level to supervision of students. Instruction continues when this status is in place.
