Lake finally freezes, new record set

It is a record after all. U. S. Army Corps of Engineers officials in Riverdale announced that Lake Sakakawea was officially frozen over Jan 18. The announcement came about noon. The date edges out the previous record by a mere two days.

The Center-Stanton boys basketball team threw all they could at No. 4 ranked Beulah Friday before shooting themselves in the foot with too many turnovers en route to the 74-39 non-conference loss in Beulah.

Wildcats fall in close 4th quarter

Kayanna Two Shields had 30 points, including seven 3-pointers, to help Solen earn a 59-46 victory over the struggling Center-Stanton girls basketball team last week. The game marked serious improvement for the Wildcats before they eventually earned their first district loss.

Rohrich siblings outdo Vitek pair

Few teams can boast to having a pair of successful siblings guiding their team like Center-Stanton does in Ashley and Rachel Vitek. However, the Wildcats ran into a pair of sisters who outdid C-S Monday night during the New Salem Tournament. Morgan and Sadie Rohrich from Kidder County combined for 31 points en route to the 75-17 victory over the Wildcats.
