A record of 8-13 isn’t very impressive in terms of just the numbers alone. But taking a closer look behind Hazen’s season, the Bison have taken on some of the state’s strongest competition. With a need to perform every time on the floor, a huge amount of confidence is a must.

At Saturday’s start there were 11. But by 3 that afternoon, Beulah-Hazen was down to six wrestlers still alive. The veterans, and a few youngsters, showed promise as the Miners will send a six-pack of grapplers to the Class B State Wrestling Tournament in Fargo Thursday through Saturday.

Hazen meet Myles Tomlinson. The Turtle Lake-Mercer forward came off the bench to provide a spark Jan. 26. Despite 24 points from playmaker Grant Singer, the Trojans supporting cast of the 5-foot-11 sophomore along with his accomplice Adam Peltier, made the difference down the stretch for the 69-55 win.
