Watford City’s Shawn Fulwider was a one-man army Dec. 20 collecting a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Even that outstanding performance couldn’t stop the Hazen boys basketball team which used all their talents to overcome the Wolves 66-54 in Hazen.

The Hazen boys basketball team made four 3-point baskets in the first eight minutes of Saturday’s boys and girls doubleheader. They never looked back as they amassed an 89-70 victory over Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans.

The Hazen boys basketball team was bound to have a few unsettled nerves in their season opening game against Des Lacs-Burlington Dec. 1. Thankfully, their bench had the steady hand to get through the tough spots en route to a 59-51 victory over the Lakers at the Hazen High School gym.

Hazen volleyball faithful have seen glimpses of it at times during the season. The Bison put all their grit on the court for a 3-2 comeback win over Heart River Thursday in the Region 7 Tournament. The third place victory ends the Bison season at 25-19.
