Bison-Miner rivalry adds another epic battle

A rivalry game is supposed to be hard fought from start to finish. Nothing is supposed to come easy and the conclusion of the game isn’t supposed to be decided until the final whistle blows. The Miners were dealt a two-point home loss to their archrival, the Hazen Bison, last weekend, 45-43.

Fans had to question whether the Bison were serious at the start of last week. Stetson Carr and Collin Maas played a little prank on their fans and opponents by wearing each others warm-up jerseys on Dec. 11 against Underwood.

North Stars end week without a win

The North Stars scored two goals in their first four games of the year and needed to find an offensive punch. Last week the North Stars found that scoring punch. The North Stars scored seven goals in two games last week but still found themselves with a win-less record at the end of the week.

North Stars looking for it

The North Stars Hockey team is 0-2 after the conclusion of the first week of the hockey season. The North Stars were shut out in their first game of the season against Mandan but managed to score in their second game of the season against Jamestown.

Bison use state record offense to win Class A state title

Records are meant to be broken. Everyone has heard that statement but few have actually enjoyed breaking it. The 2012 Hazen Bison football team enjoyed breaking seven Dakota bowl records during their Class A state championship victory.

Bison headed to State after shutout win over Bluejays

Time is a hard thing to manage; It’s always with or against us. In last year’s state Class A semifinal game, time was against the Bison when they fell by one point to the Stanley Bluejays. Father time was on Hazen’s side in this year’s Class A state semifinal game.

Bison thunder threw Bombers 50-20

Briar Bornemann will never be the biggest player on a football field but he will always attract attention. Despite the attention Lewis and Clark gave Bornemann he still maneuvered for five touchdowns in Hazen’s Class A opening round playoff win.
