B-H home meet goes well

The Beulah-Hazen cross country team entered Saturday morning’s meet ranked. The boys were second in the state and the girls were ranked fifth. The goal for the day was to show pollsters why they should remain ranked.
After the junior high races – the Beulah junior high boys finished sixth – the varsity races started. The boys lead off in a high anticipated meet. Half of the state’s top ranked Class B runners were at the meet.
New Town had four of the boys; Ryan Wheeling – ranked fourth, Scotty Hale – ranked third, Jalen Chase – ranked sixth and Joe Baker – ranked seventh. Beulah had one – Calving Aichele. Aichele is ranked eighth in the state.
Aichele didn’t top any of the higher ranked runners and finished fifth in the race with a time of 18 minutes and 37.68 seconds. The time wasn’t a season best for Aichele, it trailed last week’s 18:04 at Valley City. But when the hills at B-H’s home course are factored in it shows an impressive time.
