Balanced Bison roll past Beulah
Stetson Carr scored 21 points to lead another balanced outing by the Hazen boys basketball team as it defeated arch-rival Beulah 66-63 Friday.
Josh Rothe had 14 points and Jon Doll had 13 for the Bison which cracked the state media poll for the first week with an eighth place rating.
“Well obviously you want to get out of the gate and play well from the start to hopefully get ahead and maintain that lead,” coach Randy Johnson said. “We let them get back into the game and it was tied late in the game. It is always going to be that way against good teams. Teams are going to have runs and you need to sustain that and try to comeback and get the lead back again. We responded well against things Beulah put toward us. It was a big win for us and a good win.”
