Fleischkuechle Fundraiser

Deapolis Cemetery Fleischkuechle Fundraiser, Betty Hagel Memorial Civic Center, Center, ND. Supper to start at 5 p.m. Pies & Such Auction to begin around 7 p.m. Fleischkuechle, baked beans, kraut knoephla, and bars for a free-will donation. Auction items to include quilts, pies, homemade cookies, bars, jams, jellies, and such. All proceeds will go to maintenance and upkeep of the Deapolis Cemetery and Wayside Chapel.

Annual fall bazaar

Our Savior’s Church will hold its annual fall bazaar Sat., Oct. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mercer Community Center in Mercer. It will feature quilts and crafts, baked goods and produce. Lunch will be served.

Merkel retiring from museum

Curator Vivian Merkel  is retiring from the McLean County Museum in Washburn. Merkel, who has served as curator since March 2002, handed over the management of the facility to Rhonda Johnson this month. The McLean County Historical Society is having a retirement party for Merkel on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m., just after their annual meeting.
