Trojan girls end regular at 10-9

The Trojans ended their reg-ular season with 10 wins and nine losses and go into the District 10 tournament as the number one seed. The Trojans’ first game will be the second game Mar. 2 against the winner of the Wilton/Wing and Garrison contest.
The Trojans suffered two losses and added a win the last week of the regular season.
Feb 19, the number 1 ranked Minot Bishop Ryan Lions beat the Trojans 88-24.
Haley Zinke led the Trojans with seven points. Hannah Stewart led the Lions with 30 points.
The Lions scored the first six points of the game before Haley Zinke got the Trojans on the scoreboard at the 6:42 with a base line drive and bucket.
A triple from Mariah Sellon at the 1:33 mark ended a 10-0 run for the Lions.
The first quarter ended with the Lions in front 20-5.
The only bright spot for the Trojans in the second quarter was a triple from Sabrina Rust, followed by a put-back by Chloe Bayless.
The Lions led at the half 44-16.
The Lions outscored the Tro-jans in the third quarter 26-2 as they scored most of their points off steals from their press. The third quarter score was 70-18.
The Lions continued to pile up the points and won their 19th game without a loss.
Feb 22, the girls were on the bus to Drake to take on the Drake/Anamoose Raiders.
Kennedy Sondrol led the Trojans with 15 points in the 54-40 win over the Raiders.
Rachel Handeland and Am-ber Windish each scored 10 points for the Raiders.
The Raiders took the first quarter 13-8, but the second quarter the Trojans put their game together and took the half-time lead 24-22.
The Trojans’ defense held the Raiders to just seven points the third quarter while the Trojans offense scored 18 points and took a 42-29 lead at the end of three quarters.
