After a season opening loss to Wilton, the Trojans bounced back and defeated the Surrey Mustangs 3-1 on the home court Sept 2, Tuesday night. But on Thursday night, Sept 4, the Wells County team got the best of the Trojans 3-1.
The first game of the Surrey match saw Jordyn Sondrol knock down a couple of aces to begin the game for a 2-0 lead.
From there, the Mustangs took a 3-2 lead and the battle was on with both teams having either a slight lead or tied until the Mustangs took a 13-12 lead and held the narrow margin to the end. winning 25-21.
The second game again saw Sondrol open with aces, this time three consecutive. The Trojans scored the first eight points of the game.
With the Trojans leading 11-8, Jenna Bayless served up three aces in a row in a 9-0 spurt to put the Trojans up 20-8.
Devon Belisle picked up a couple of aces late in the game for a 25-12 win.
