Central to open by Fourth
“As of right now, I don’t see any reason we can’t have the paving done and Central open by the Fourth.”
Those words from Justin Thurn of Keller Paving provided reassurance to business owners and Fourth of July organizers alike.
Already, the cement partitions on the south end of the street are being moved north and replaced with traffic barrels. Prep work for the curb, gutter and sidewalks has started, and by the end of the week, the cement should be pouring.
By Monday and Tuesday of next week, Keller Paving hopes to be laying the first lift of asphalt along the south block, since the curb and gutter has to cure before the street can be paved. By Wednesday, plans are to move the signal light from the underpass down near the corner of First and Main.
