It just keeps coming
North Dakotans celebated their whitest Christmas in a long time last week, and it appears the snow isn’t going away any time soon. The white stuff has continued to fall on almost a daily basis, and just last Sunday night, another three inches fell, and was then whipped around by the wind, blocking country roads. Road maintainers and street cleaning equipment has been running nearly nonstop throughout the holidays, giving road crews limited opportunities to enjoy the season.
Local residents did get a break from the subzero temperatures over the weekend, however, as the mercury finally rose over the freezing mark. The sunny days and warmer temps encouraged snowmobilers to take to the trails and children to build snowmen and speed down hillsides on sleds.
