Aggies take Region 3 title

The Aggie gridiron crew wrapped up the regular season last Friday night by taking out Harvey 21-8 and claiming the Region 3 crown. The victory guarantees them homefield in the playoffs, at least until the semifinals, provided they win the first two rounds. Last weekend’s game in Harvey was a test for the Aggies, which allowed only the second touchdown of the season by an opponent. Technically, the defense still has not allowed a score, as both the TDs this season were the made on against the offense following turnovers. It’s another indication of the strength of Velva’s defense, which Coach Larry Sandy calls “solid.”

Kuntz, Tasha Heisler, Breanne Sherlock and Cassidy Peterson all claimed a spot on the team.
