Aggies fall to Stanley

An old rivalry was renewed in Stanley last Friday night, and Velva came out on the short end of a 16-8 score. Coach Larry Sandy noted it “lacked the intensity” of previous Aggie-Blue Jay match ups.

While the Aggies weren’t able to hang onto last year’s state baseball title, they did make a fine showing at the state tournament in Mandan last week.

Last Chance meet in Velva

As the state track meet draws near, Velva hosted the Last Chance meet on Monday, giving athletes another chance to qualify for the state event, to be held over Memorial Day weekend in Bismarck. A number of local tracksters took advantage of the opportunity, earning trips to Bismarck.

Aggie nine still going strong

The Aggies encountered their first loss of the season last week, losing a tight 3-1 pairing with Beulah. They came back to win the second game 7-0, however, and demolished Max-Sawyer earlier in the week, 13-0.
